My home was once there The outward shape is still there And yet, it’s transformed Walking these old streets Visions of dirty concrete Echoes of our past Grime and poverty Once marked these streets with their truth Now airbrushed away Walking with dear friends Explorations of this past Amongst my future
Dawn has now long passed Life’s demands now driving me And, thus, I’m rising Awaken, my friends, and seize this day.
Sharing thankfulness So many blessings this night Filled with gratitude
A new day begins Full of opportunity Don’t let your fears win
As I still my mind I’m seeking tranquility In this autumn night
Ponder my future Possibilities and fears Present at sunset
My soul resisting This awakening, needed Longing for sleep’s grace
Went walking today Along my favorite shoreline As the sun moved low One of my favorite things is to walk along the waterfront in Edmonds, WA. Tonight I include a few photos I took along the way.
Early morning rain Disrupting outdoor planning Well, we’re flexible Awoke to the steady patter of a Seattle rain. For me, there’s something very calming about it. I guess it’s part of Seattle being home. There must be moss in my soul.
